Nicky was inspired to train as an art therapist following her time volunteering in Sri Lanka after the 2004 Tsunami, where she facilitated groups which enabled people to use images and words to express and process their experiences. Jiva has been practicing since 1997, mainly in the Western Insight and Forest Sangha traditions, and teaches secular mindfulness and self-compassion as her day job. This retreat is led by Suvaco. He practised as a Buddhist monk for 17 years. He continues his work as a psychotherapist, cranio sacral practitioner and meditation teacher.
