What does meditation practice bring to our lives?
Maybe you have a vague sense that ‘meditation is good for me’, or maybe you’ve heard that it’s beneficial but aren’t really sure what it can do for you. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced meditator, these questions are worth exploring.
Join me on this day to explore what benefits are available to us from meditation. I will be both drawing and building on the experience in the room, and explaining some of the recent research into the effects of meditation on our bodies and minds. I teach in an interactive style so there will be shared sitting and walking practice, discussion in pairs or small groups, Q and A and a short talk.
I have been practicing Dharma since 1997 in the Theravada tradition and with Gaia House teachers, and am particularly interested in the practice of enquiring deeply into our processes. I am currently nearing the end of the Community Dharma Leader programme mentored by Jenny Wilks, who is on the Gaia House teacher council.
I have an MSc in teaching MBSR and MBCT, which is my day job, and I find that the interactive style used here is very helpful to find your own wisdom and clarify your own experience.
